Baby Noah Birth Day

So I went to the doctor on May 6th and we discussed inducing. We decided to induce on my actual due date which was May 10th. Me and Aaron were so excited when we left the doctor's office we just couldn't stop smiling! We had to be at the hospital at 4:30 Monday morning! It all became so real when we got up that morning that baby Noah would be here VERY soon! We were so excited we couldn't sleep. At about 5:15am I was finally hooked up to the pitocin and they were tracking Noah's heartbeat and my contractions. My doctor came in at about 8:45 and broke my water. From that point on we just had to wait. I was a slow go at dilating and it felt like it was taking forever. Throughout the day I think Aaron got more nervous because apparently at one point he locked the keys in the car! I got my epidural at about 1 something almost 2 after being in labor for almost 5 hours. I figured might as well go ahead and get it before my contractions start getting too bad. After I got it I felt NOTHING it was nice. I tried to sleep but with everyone in my room talking and wanting to watch TV it was kind of hard. FINALLY when I got to a 5 later on in the evening I thought geez I still have to get to 10! About an hour later I was already at an 8!! Once I got to an 8 they started to scare me though because I had a fever and they were concerned. They just brought in some antibiotics to put in through my IV and really didn't explain anything in detail to me just looked concerned kept checking my temp and hooked me up the antibiotics. Then they told me if Noah had a fever he would have to go straight to the nursery I wouldn't have even gotten to see him yet. After all that it was finally time to push. After about an hour and a half of pushing at 10:32pm baby Noah was welcomed into the world at a whopping 9lbs 14oz and 22 1/4 in.! One thing I wish would have been different though is I wish me and Aaron would have at least gotten some time alone with him as soon as he was born instead of everyone coming into the room and taking pictures. We really didn't get that moment of experiencing him for the first time together. All in all my labor wasn't bad at all it was really easy just long. I would do it again in a heartbeat though! Noah couldn't be more perfect!

Baby Shower

Wow it has been a while since I blogged! I guess I should get caught up to speed on things that have happened. Well....April 10th I had my baby shower. It was wonderful and lots of people came. Me and Aaron wound up with lots of fantastic gifts to welcome new baby Noah. It could not have been better! My Aunt Linda did an amazing job planning it and my cousin Dayla took charge the day of in getting everything set up. It was PERFECT. My mom did a little doodling ((TRACING!!)) so I could have this picture I wanted on my cake. It was SUPER cute! That's pretty much all I can say about my shower. I have pictures though!

Easter Egg Belly

It's our first Easter together and just like Christmas it's going to be memorable. I don't know if I mentioned it but our first Christmas together Wichita Falls got a record snowfall causing all the roads to be in terrible condition, and not suitable for driving. Aaron almost didn't get to come home from work on Christmas Eve and I would have been home alone. Thankfully a friend of ours was able to get him home safely. Our power also went out that night for 3 hours. Christmas day we braved the roads that seemed to be somewhat drivable and had our first Christmas day lunch together at Denny's. We then made our way to my parents house where we were actually able to open our gifts from each other and my parents. Some Christmas huh? Now we get to Easter which is normally a sad time for Aaron but he decided this year to put that all behind him and enjoy Easter by making new memories. With this said, while we were standing in line at a horridly busy Wal Mart at 10pm, we decided that our first Easter memory together would be painting my pregnant belly like an Easter egg. While some people were dying eggs, with or for their kiddos last night, we were painting one on my kiddos place of residence (for the time being). It was fun and definitely a picture for his scrapbook. Not only is Easter this year more special because I have Aaron in my life BUT it's opening day for the Red Sox. First game of the season is against none other than the New York Yankees. GO BO SOX!! ((A little bit of an honorary tribute is depicted in the belly art as you will see)) Oh yes in case I didn't mention, we are huge Red Sox fans. Noah already has his first Red Sox outfit and blanket courtesy of his Nana.

Choosing A Pediatrician

At my last doctors appointment my doctor said to me "Have you chosen a pediatrician yet?". I looked him a little puzzled thinking well no, Noah isn't even born yet and said "No there's a couple I'm looking at though". He then explained to me that they like to know who you choose for your pediatrician before the baby is born. I thought hmmm I'm going to have to go home and look at my information and see why because I obviously skipped reading that part! Come to find out that like to know ahead of time because they put it on your chart and paperwork that way when Noah is born HIS pediatrician will be who sees him at the hospital. After finding all this information out that was clearly new to me I decided today that since I go to the doctor tomorrow I would call the ones I had been thinking about going with and see if they would be taking new patients. Obviously I am going to call my first choice, Dr. Sultemeier, first. I saw him some when I was little and I loved him. They took all my information and said "We don't think he's taking any new patients on but I will give him your information and I'll give you a call back". Fingers crossed I was soooo hoping they called me back and said "Sure he'll take him!". I waited and they called me back and said "Miss Bradford I spoke to Dr. Sultemeier and he said he would take your baby as a patient be sure and let them know when you have him that he is your pediatrician" I was so excited! I got my first choice and I know now that Noah is going to have a great doctor!!

Noah's Nursery

Almost forgot to put anything about it on here!! Noah's nursery is complete. My due date isn't till May 10th BUT putting his nursery together was something I wanted to have done early. Mostly because I was SUPER excited about it and because you never know what could happen within that last couple months! Aaron put together the crib and changing table and did such a good job! We bought some wall decals from Big Lots for only 3 dollars that go with the theme of his room which is none other than BASEBALL and they look SOOO cute! We were so proud of his room we kept going in there just to look.

We're Engaged!!

Aaron bought my ring a few weeks ago but has just been waiting to come up with a good way to surprise me and give it to me. We both knew we wanted to get married but I wanted the whole surprise and the proposal and he wanted to ask me. He had been racking his brains trying to figure out a way to do it. I just kept going about my days not even thinking about it because I didn't want to know anything about it. Yesterday he had mentioned since he got off early for a change we should go out to eat. I said sure that sounds good to me considering I've been dying to get out of the house lately and us actually go on a date even if it's just out to dinner. We decided we wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse. We go in and they say it's going to be a twenty to thirty minute wait, that's fine it's nice outside we'll just wait. We finally get seated and he is being silly the whole time. Not that I minded because he always knows how to make me laugh but he was being a little off. He has those moments a lot though haha! He kept telling me all these ways he's come up with to ask me and I'm going "Well don't tell me I don't wanna know" and he just keeps saying "Well I just don't know how I'm gonna ask you". We eat our meal and I get up to go to the restroom. I come back and he says again "I still just don't know" our waiter then brings a bowl of what has chocolate fudge cake with ice cream on top and my ring is on top of the ice cream. Aaron then says "So I figured I'd ask you here, will you marry me?" before he says anything I don't even notice my ring I'm thinking "When did he order desert?" all the waitresses start yelling and cheering and I obviously start to cry because DUH it's one of the happiest moments in my life AND because I actually really was surprised. I was totally clueless. I thought hmm he must have done this while I was in the bathroom. Nope, while we were waiting for our table he said he needed to go to the bathroom so he went inside and was gone quite a while. He did it then. He knew he was gonna do it all day!

Our Story

Okay so I'm new to this blogging thing. It's become pretty popular and since so much has happened in my life in the past year I decided I'd blog about it....

February 2009: First things first....Valentines day of 2009 I met the love of my life, Aaron. Didn't know it at the time but knew instantly I had to find out who this guy was. We were both working at United Marketstreet and he came through my line to buy a six pack and go home to be alone on Valentines day. We both chit chatted about what our plans were and he went on his way. After a week of asking a couple people about him but never seeing him again I thought "Oh well maybe he'll come through my line again sometime". I went out with my friends that night to have some drinks and I saw him with a friend of his. I knew his friend so I made an excuse to go over there and talk. I put my number in his phone under what was NOT my name and told him "If you can find my number you should give me a call". I'm very straightforward obviously. Five seconds later I got a text message. When I got home that night we talked on the phone all night long till about 4 am. I was definitely smitten and we became good friends.
March 2009: Talking on the phone quite a bit and spent a lot of time together as friends I finally got a date out of him! March 20th we went on our first date! We went to the movies to see "The Haunting in Connecticut". Some time went by and we went on dates and watched quite a bit of movies at our apartments and he had explained he didn't really want a relationship just yet. He had been previously married and recently divorced at the time.
April 2009: We had a bit of a rough month in April. I almost gave up and decided he wasn't really worth my time. Till I got this text message "No matter what you do or say I miss seeing you and spending time with you. Do with that what you will".
MAY 2009: We had a long discussion, May 5th,and he decided he was that much closer to actually saying hey lets be serious I want you to be my girlfriend and make this a relationship. The next day I got a picture message, that really only me and him understand, and to this day I still have the picture. The message said "It's like this" meaning this was how close he was to wanting to make the commitment to make me his girlfriend. I went through a lot just to get that so this made my day.
May 7th me and a friend of mine decide we wanna go out. Aaron and his roommate were going out for drinks to the same place. We saw each other and danced a couple times and then him and his roommate went home because they were having people over. I told him we were staying till the drink specials were over and that I would come by when I left. I went to his apartment and as we were talking outside laying in the grass looking up at the stars he says "I really like you, I want you to be my girlfriend". My first response was "Are you gonna take this back in the morning or do you mean it?" He assured me that he meant it and obviously I'm gonna be excited about saying yes. As of May 7th 2009 we were officially in a relationship. (The picture was taken May 9th at a barbecue at our friends house.
Moving things along we made a great couple, loved spending time together and I knew pretty quickly that I was totally in love with this guy. He was still a little closed off and seeing where things were going not really putting his all into our relationship. But then when he made a mistake and realized that I forgave him and he realized I would do anything for him, he realized he loved me too. May 30th he told me he loved me. Talk about make my day!
June 2009: Aaron's birthday is in June and I wanted to do something really really special. I wanted it to be one of the best birthdays he had ever had if not THE BEST birthday he had ever had. I spent a lot of time thinking about it and I decided I was going to throw him a surprise party at our friends house. Food, decorations, a keg and I even invited his family because I knew that would make his day to see them there. His birthday is June 16th but I decided to have the party June 13th since it was a Saturday. He was really surprised and everyone had a blast! On the way home he told me "Thank you so much for my birthday it was the best birthday I have ever had". Just hearing him say that meant a lot to me. His party was SO much fun and I knew he had a blast and I was so glad! ((This picture is of him blowing out his candles!))
Aaron is a big baseball fan so his birthday party was themed around baseball. We had hot dogs and chips and cracker jacks! His candles on his cake were baseballs and we even had a special cake for him that had his name on it that looked like a baseball. Me and my best friend made shirts for the occasion as well. They said "Happy Birthday Aaron" on them.
July 2009: Not a whole lot happened in July. We did go to a Red Sox@ Rangers game. Aaron had never been to a professional baseball game so we went and stayed with my cousin Dayla and her husband Cody in McKinney. That night we went to the game and it was a lot of fun. Our Red Sox lost but that's okay! Only big thing that happened in July was Aaron moved into my apartment with me after his roommate decided to break their lease. Oh and we got our precious black lab clearance puppy Maximus! ((The picture is of us at the ball game.))
August 2009: I can't recall anything happening in August really. We lived together and had settled into our routines mostly. We learned quite a bit about each other I know that much! Oh I did get a new car though. 2003 GMC Envoy. Not brand new but new to me and I bought it all on my own.
September 2009: Boy was this a big month. Everything was going great living together was actually really easy. September 9th I took a pregnancy test to discover that I was pregnant. I cried and cried mostly out of FEAR and I remember Aaron holding me wiping my tears off my face telling me everything was going to be okay we were in this together. Our first doctors appointment was the following week. September 15th I was 6 weeks along and we had a sonogram done to check things out. We got to hear the babies heartbeat for the first time and it was so amazing. Two weeks later was my 8 weeks appointment and from then on we started going every month.
October 2009: October was a crummy month. I lost my job on the 9th a week before my birthday. I was so depressed about that I just knew my birthday was going to suck. Aaron made it a really special day though. We went to IHOP for breakfast and then he took me to buy me a new camera that we were definitely going to need with the baby coming and all. I spent quite a bit of time looking for a new job but nothing ever came long. We knew we were about to need to do some serious budgeting on the finances if this was gonna work.
November 2009: Still no job and money was dwindling from what I had. We definitely needed some help. My dad helped us make a budget. We also decided we needed a cheaper place to live. My parents suggested walking on the lease to the apartment we were living in and moving into the house we live in now. So that's what we did. We cut back, stuck with our budget and after me begging, pleading and crying on the phone we were able to rent our little house we live in now that we absolutely love. We moved in the day after Thanksgiving. What a time to move!! But it was perfect timing because my brothers were able to help since they were in town for the holiday. Another good thing that happened in November was I got a job. Not a real great job but I started working as part time seasonal help at Gordon's Jewelers. Not a lot of money but it's something and it helped.
December 2009: December was a REALLY awesome month. December 3rd we found out the sex of the baby. It's a boy! We decided to name him Noah Xavier Flores. It was the most amazing thing ever seeing that ultrasound and finding out that he was no longer an "it". I obviously cried! We were so excited to find out that the baby was a boy! Christmas came around and it was our first Christmas together. Aaron did such a great job on my gifts I was really excited about the stuff he got me. He tried really hard to get me things I would like and he obviously paid attention because it was all stuff I had mentioned previously that I wanted. It snowed a TON here and almost ruined Christmas but all in all Christmas was great!
January 2010: Nothing really happened in January. It was kind of a boring month. New Years, that's about it. Moving on....
February 2010: February! A year ago I saw that handsome smile for the first time! It was our first Valentines day being together and it sure was special! Aaron wanted it to be really special but couldn't think of what he wanted to get me and had to work so he couldn't go get me anything prior to. So Valentines day morning he got up at 6am, he had to be to be at work at 9, and got my present. I woke up around 8 to three sweet little candles burning, one of them saying "Be Mine", a teddy bear, my card that was super sweet and the Miranda Lambert cd I had been wanting for a while. He did such a good job! For our Valentines Day date we went and had dinner at Olive Garden and then we saw the movie Valentines Day. We got lucky too because we got the last two tickets for the showtime we wanted to go to. It was a fantastic Valentines day!
With all that said that brings us up to speed!
